William Thomas

William L. “Bill” Thomas heads the Environment, Health & Safety Practice of the international law firm Willkie, Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he advises companies, financiers, developers and other enterprises on all aspects of corporate environmental law, with a focus on transactions, financings, projects, and legal strategy.

 Bill, a graduate of St. Olaf College and the Georgetown University Law Center in 1986 and 1989, respectively, is a Fellow in both the American Bar Foundation and the American College of Environmental Lawyers.  Some of his other appointments include roles on the boards of directors and advisory bodies of a number of non-profit organizations, many of which aid the U.S. special operations community.  Bill also advises several veterans and special operations non-profits on a pro bono basis as a complement to daily efforts in support of charitable organizations honoring the service and sacrifice of the fallen or assisting Gold Star survivors through Operation Hawkeye, established by his son, Will Thomas, in 2011.
